IP collaborations have become a powerful strategy in mobile gaming, driving engagement, increasing monetization, enhancing game visibility, and lowering user acquisition costs. With GameRefinery, you can access an extensive collection of IP collaborations across different genres and analyze their impact.

The easiest way to find this data is by using the Game Update Impacts view:

  1. Navigate to Game Update Impacts.

  2. Filter by 'Promotional Collaboration Events'.

    • Click the small funnel icon in the Features column header.

  3. Pick the genre of interest.

  4. Click 'Show Update' to view IP collaboration details, including descriptions and screenshots.

  5. Analyze the impact using key metrics:

    • Revenue, Downloads, and Revenue per Download (REV/DL).

Example: The Summoners War X Witcher 3 collaboration brought +92% WoW Rev/DL uptick

The Live Event Tracker (LET) takes the above analysis to the next level by offering

  • More granularity - exact timing of each IP event).

  • Greater depth - detailed descriptions and additional screenshots

  • Expanded impact metrics – additional KPIs like active users and ARPDAU.

If your GameRefinery plan includes access to LET, follow these steps to explore IP collaborations:

  1. Select the game(s) of interest.

  2. Go to the Game Calendars tab.

    • Check the Overarching Theme section for a summary of collaborations, including analyst descriptions and event links.

  3. If no summary is available, use the IP/Branded Collaboration filter to find relevant data.

  4. Analyze the impact using available KPIs.

    • Adjust the date range to view both micro and macro trends.

Example: In February, eFootball resumed collaborating with Captain Tsubasa IP and celebrated Ramadan and Brazilian football with connected campaigns. Both collaborations with Tsubasa IP brought a visible WoW revenue spike (5-8x), proving a strong fit and good execution.
